dendrite
Way ahead of here. The grass has been up a few days and there’s some clover growing in the pawpaw patch. But that about it. The forsythia is just starting to bloom.

Fucker germinate so early they were impossible to stop. Then the pods pop and sprays seeds all over.

BrianW
These old Craftmans are tanks. Ive been trying for like 20 years to kill this mower. Came with the house for free and I have done basically zero maintenance on it. Crashed it into many trees, zero oil changes or maintenance, etc It just keeps mowing every year... haha

You should try throwing down some of their Black Beauty grass seed. I hear the chickens go wild for it..

The chemical ferts are like crack, they juice the grass but the effects wear off quickly and they don't contribute to the long-term microbial biodiversity in the soil, which is important for plant health. Lawn looks awesome ! Mine's still dormant. I do 2 bags of this every year. Amazing stuff. Bag says its made from waste distillery grains from Portsmouth NH. So most likely from some brewery up there? Its not cheap but I'll spend the extra money so my dogs aren't rolling around in chemicals... 1

I have a '93 Craftsman that's still going strong. Just oil, batteries and one fix to the steering coupler.

My next-door neighbor has one similar to that one, maybe a few years newer. I get to work on it and borrow it typically a few times per year, it has a big bagging attachment that comes in handy. My standard lawn machine is a 22-inch walk behind; it's a three-mile round-trip hike through the yard.
