I’m not sure I’ve ever seen an inch+ of sleet but that might change tonight. Metro is going to be brutally close to the snow/sleet/freezing rain cutoff line.

Looks like a very nice soaker on the way for tonight through tomorrow night.  Best rains in a loooong time.

The degree of the severe threat is a bit questionable.  Models show lots of ongoing rounds of precip through much of the day in the warm sector, so instability may be knocked back some.  Still a nice setup though overall.

April snowstorm just 50-60 miles north.

Woke up to an unexpected layer of freezing rain on any elevated outdoor surface.  Scraping car windows isn't fun when it is pouring rain and 33°.

32 and rain

Breezy, 32 n no snow yet. A trace last night. Radar showing good returns coming in, but this is going to be a slop fest.

SN with windy conditions. Mostly grass accum, with some on the rds. Temp dropped to 30 when the snow got going. Winter is back for a few days.

Had an inch of snow earlier and now it's sleeting with occasional snowflakes mixing in. Brisk east wind, 27 degrees.  A solid 40" glacier in place.

Went from 53 to 72 in three hours as the warm front came through.

Picked up 1.01" so far since last evening.  I'll take it.

4.9" imby. Yesterday the wet snow mixed with small grains of sleet during the aftrn before it went all snow. Snow ended overnight sometime. 

Next one should hit harder to my N & W. With more mixing my way. Ice storm warning over N WI & UP MI.

Another near miss with several inches of snow just to my north and 30s and rain for the metro. I’ll happily take the precipitation.

Far different air mass here compared to yesterday evening.  Cold northeast winds from Alekville have kept us north of the warm front, and thus reducing the nader threat to zero.

Another 0.75" overnight brings the total since Monday night to 3.25" of much needed rains.

Yeah we are probably in the 3-4" of rain range as well over the last few days up here. A lot of the usual spots are starting to get into action or minor flood stage, except Ontario on the Kickapoo which is somehow in major stage. Next week's system is going to be something to watch for flooding, as it's going to take a few days for everything to dry out. And just like that we go from worrying about drought to flooding. Again.

My area did not quite get the 3+" of rain shown on the ensembles earlier in the week, but I'm happy with 2.30".  Now we get to deal with four days of cold before the warmth and action returns.

2.5" of very wet snow. Kids in the neighborhood made a very large snowman.

After weeks of dark gloom and overcast, yesterday was supposed to be partly sunny clearing in the afternoon instead the entire day was a shart mood. It was warm 17°C/64F in the morning then it fell to 5C by 4:00 p.m. Today its dark and raining and far colder than forecast at 5C. The nightmare just goes on. This is worse than any period in the winter because there was all that snow on the ground to reflect more light and in general there was more sun. The brightness even when it was overcast was higher so the sustained level of low lux is deviant - which is how I'm starting to feel. Looking at the 7 day makes me want to puke!! 

I'm getting an outlandish amt of rain too, somewhere around 70mm/3" this week.
