OrdIowPitMsp Posted yesterday at 10:05 PM Share Posted yesterday at 10:05 PM I’m not sure I’ve ever seen an inch+ of sleet but that might change tonight. Metro is going to be brutally close to the snow/sleet/freezing rain cutoff line.
cyclone77
Looks like a very nice soaker on the way for tonight through tomorrow night. Best rains in a loooong time. The degree of the severe threat is a bit questionable. Models show lots of ongoing rounds of precip through much of the day in the warm sector, so instability may be knocked back some. Still a nice setup though overall.
OrdIowPitMsp
Bust of a WSW for the inner metro. Just a glaze of sleet and ice on elevated surfaces at home. April snowstorm just 50-60 miles north.
WestMichigan
Woke up to an unexpected layer of freezing rain on any elevated outdoor surface. Scraping car windows isn't fun when it is pouring rain and 33°.

Winter is back for a few days. Had an inch of snow earlier and now it's sleeting with occasional snowflakes mixing in. Brisk east wind, 27 degrees. A solid 40" glacier in place. 1
