I’ve been seeing the extra screw zone on qpf in the CRV in Mass. I haven’t looked at it too much yet, but with that shitstreak attempt into Maine I’m a little worried about some low to mid level dry air feeding in up here. 2

If you look at the QPF signatures on the GFS and GEM, it's there....it moved south a bit on 12z GFS.

vortex95
Look at the 500 cut-off on the 12z GFS. 509 dm "drilling for oil" "black hole sun" 75 mi SE of ACK. Ideally, and CoastalWx will "complain," you want the 500 low to come right over you for the best weenie comma head backlash, but "BEGGAAARRRRS can't be CHOOSAHS!"

When the storm takes a bit of a wide turn, we often see the dry air try and advect down the valleys more efficiently with a drier ageo vector. It obivously gets overcome if you get into the CCB enough, but the areas kind of on the outer periphery should watch it. I think it affected Jan 2015 in some western areas making it even worse arctic sand than usual.

I've been trying to will that sucker to the southern beaches of LI for a couple of days to be honest, yet all my Jedi powers have managed apparently is kissing ACK... It's been considered. Also, noticed this system appears to also be expanding in recent runs. Radially farther W-N.
