One of those times I'd rather not see snow this weekend. Oldest is performing in the Maryland All State Chorus on Sunday.

Ok so I hope it snows...buuuut...congratulations, from an all state chorus alum. It was a great experience! Hope the performance goes well (uh despite having to be rescheduled :P )

Mammoth will close part of their resort tomorrow Feb 17. They have already picked up 12 inches of new snow, with heavy snow now expected through Thursday. Woolly Lot already looks drastically different. Plow Guy needs to get started plowing snow in that lot! Its piling up superfast and its blowing around too! Mammoth is now 19 degrees and falling!

All I can say folks, is that this is one hell of a snowy, windy as hell BEAST of a BAAAAAAAAAAD blizzard. This thing is straight outta Compton. High winds, heavy snow, hell you can't even see anything half the time from that milkshake froth!

THIS, IS NO TIME FOR A JEBWALK.

Man, Plow Guy really needs to plow that Woolly Lot! The snow is so DEEP! Its falling hard and it is blowing around like no one's bisnass!

17 degrees heavy snow, blowing snow and winds to 60 mph is wind chills -15 to -20 at times.

BRRRRRRRRRRR. This is NO time to be out jebwalking.

why are all the kids adding "-maxxing" as a suffix?

-maxxing is a THING today. You know, Looksmaxxing, everything maxxing out. It's the Generation Z and Generation Alpha thing.

Don't forget -MOG. For example, a mogger storm is a bad storm. The blizzard in California is a mogger storm. It's badass.

I love Gen Z terms and I love Gen Z tracks even more! Like Adele, Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, Leona Lewis, Playboi Carti, Kodak Black, Ken Carson, Glorilla, I think Sticky is FIRE, King Von is good, The Weeknd, man I really like The Weeknd so damn much!!!!!!!, Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, Evanescence, One Direction, Nelly Furtado's tracks are to DIE for!!!!, BabyCheifDoIt, Backend_Caughtem and dozens of others! I am definitely NOT your normal 62 year old Late Boomer! NO EFFIN WAY! I have a Spotify List with 493 Gen Z tracks that's FIRE!

@stormtracker Randy -  I am begging you  - can you please at least ban that guy from posting in the disco threads? Or just 5-post him? He's more than earned it - and if there is indeed a legit storm threat coming - the banter and useless crap from him and then the others responding to his baiting is really dragging down reading that thread and forming thoughts on the weekend for everyone else.

models are in it for one last troll. I can promise you no snowstorm is coming next weekend for the MA. It’s not happening. . But it will be interesting to see how long the charade keeps up to get people sucked in before the models inevitably all shit the bed. I think if they cave tomorrow the meltdowns won’t be too bad. But if the cave comes Thursday or Friday this place will need to issue suicide watches.

It's surreal at Mammoth. Up to 39 inches just since yesterday. People trying to remove snow from the deck on the Main Lodge, waist deep to nearly chest deep in new snow lol.

https://www.mammothmountain.com/on-the-mountain/mammoth-webcam/main-lodge

Even the Village Level got demolished with at least 2 feet of new snow. https://www.mammothmountain.com/on-the-mountain/mammoth-webcam/the-village

They have 20-26 more inches coming today as a new colder storm takes aim on the Sierra.

Between the very heavy snow and that wind, its a milkshake froth out there - serious whiteout conditions at times, and often! It's COLD too, 14 degrees with 60 mph gusts brrrrrrrrrr -23 wind chiils.

Mammoth Resort is now CLOSED for the day, due to frigid temperatures in the low teens and winds gusting to 80 mph. It's a veritable milkshake froth out there. Very heavy snow is being whipped around, to say nothing of feet of fresh snow being picked up and blasted all over the place. Up to 26 inches expected today with much more tonight and heavy snow/high winds expected tomorrow as well.

Palisades Tahoe is also shut down for the day as well. On radar that Pacific Firehose is trained squarely at them. It's a murderous frigid conveyor belt full of crazy torrential snows, smashing the Sierra with incredible moisture and snow rates all day and tonight. Many of their webcams are iced up badly.

I'd put in a couple mile Jebwakk in that. I'd probably even do a night nighttime Jebwalk in that.

During LES on the Tug the wind is ripping along the edges of the snowband, whipping up vertices of blinding ground blizzards across the Tug. It looks like they are dancing along the edge of the storm. The arctic blue sky is right overhead, contrasting against a wall of black, to an almost a brownish colored, fast moving clouds. Once the band starts to slide over you the blue sky disappears and the wind whipped snowflakes start to appear. The intensity doubles with every wind gust until your jaw drops in amazement at the extreme display of mother nature. Suddenly you're in the heart of the beast. It goes completely calm. The intensity of the snow takes over all of your senses. The faint sound of a bird chirping in an world dominated by the snowflakes is surreal.

Yeah...I swear the doom-posting with every SLIGHT change in the models every 6 hours if it doesn't show wall-to-wall HECS level snows in general is a pain in the ass and a huge one at that.  Page after page of whining and saying we're toast, or "I told you that you all are just chasing a rainstorm but you wouldn't listen to my secret expertise!"  You know what?  We may be toast, but at this point who knows.  But you know what else?  Who cares.  We track something interesting because we all are looking for snow, and we'll track it to the end or until such point that it looks like a loss.  I'm not going to assume that "OMG it's trending badly, it's over!!!"  because a couple of models seem to "back off" from 18" snow during some run.  But it's no fun to sift through all the BS either.  It would be nice to see the lower end of the goal posts converge on a few inches or so of snow for this upcoming potential, that would be a fun event...with an upper end of a serious MECS (or better!) possible.

The whining and over-concern worry is bad enough with any event, but the troll-like posts are way over the top, up to and including actually disparaging professional mets and others in here who are very knowledgeable.  That just crosses a big red line.  So yeah, maybe not outright "banning" those that engage in that, but the old 5-posting would help.  Maybe that would make those who are deliberately shit-stirring and trolling think twice...but if not, they at least wouldn't be posting more than 5 times within some time frame.
