Aleksey
I've got family in Oconee County. Hoping y'all all get buried down there! Thanks! I feel good about this one for sure! I think it over performs and moves more west then models show. I think widespread 2-4 and 3-5” is likely in Oconee, Barrow and Walton county. .

Aleksey
It’s under my name. Habersham county. It says you are in Grand Rapids lol there are several of us in NE GA from athens to commerce Toccoa Rabun county etc It doesn’t show me under your name. I’ll have to update my settings. For some reason it’s not letting me log in, but I can reply and post? I’m not sure. I used to live in Grand Rapids, MI for 5 years prior to coming back home and now I’m back in Winder. Saw the heaviest snow of my entire life up there. We averaged about 75” per winter up there and it became so old so quick. Southern snow is so much more exciting lol but tomorrow’s snow will be like the snow I was used to. Toccoa is sitting very pretty for tomorrow! I think they could see the most along with Athens and Winder in the top 3-5 for totals in the state. .

The snow was great but after growing up in GA the cold was brutal. Haven’t seen anything hitting the ground but temp is down to 39. Roger Smith
(cross-posted from obs thread) Note the feature over e TN, sw VA into w NC is a wave on arctic front, the upper level low is still back around n.e. Missouri and central IL dropping southeast. Moderate snow partly lake enhanced has broken out over n/c IL associated with the upper low. This light to moderate snow band will catch up to the pivoting arctic frontal wave tonight and Saturday morning as the low begins to deepen more rapidly off the coast. The 500 mb low has not quite closed off yet. 850 mb temps behind it are -24C (-12F) in Iowa. That slug of very cold air will be somewhere near TLH by this time Saturday (modified slightly). We will be seeing dynamics that may only be equalled by Feb 12-13 1899 in that region.

Man Rabun is gonna be sitting pretty! 4-7” looks very likely up that way! I’m hoping we can get 3”. If we get 3” down here in Winder that’s a huge win! 3-4” would be our biggest snow in this part since January 2011! We had about 8” during that storm and the biggest storm in GA since I’ve been alive. I still think 2-4” for MBY is likely! .
