I will get excited for north Atlanta suburbs once @SnowGoose69 says we have a chance

I still think about 2 is the best metro Atlanta or W sides of the metro can do.  Will have to watch for a band of heavier snow on the NW edge of the precip shield with this...happens often in these setups and the only model that may see it is the NAM/RRFS in the final 24-30 hours.

Really interesting to see RAH so bullish on central NC. Of note, they have Greenville NC at 98% to see more than 4 inches. And rdu at 87%. But they have rdu at 10% to see more than 18” and Greenville at 2%. I guess that shows where they are most uncertain about.

Twenty three years in Eastern N.C. (am a central Md. native,) and have yet to break the 4" barrier with snow. Either I've cursed the places I've lived in here (ILM/PGV) or it's awfully damned hard to get a decent snow in Eastern, N.C. BTW, what's the blue hand palm in your profile image? It seems to be popping up here and there lately and I've no clue what it is.

Thanks.  Love your input.  Wouldn’t Dunwoody or northeast of Atl like Gwinnett do better in this set up than say Marietta on the northwest side of Atl?

yes. NE ATL should do better than NW ATL from this storm... although anything is possible a heavier snow shower could set up over cobb county and dump an extra 1-2 inches and miss places like lawrenceville and buford.

but if you had to bet, you'd have to bet on the 85 corridor getting more than the 75 corridor north of town.

Heyyyy I’m from Glen burnie, been on the coast for 4 years now.(Sneads Ferry)I think in those 4 years maybe 2 inches of snow.

How disruptive would 8-12" be in that area?  I can't imagine they have many plows?  Our daughter is in Morehead City.  Sorry of the off-topic SE forum folks!  Hope you get a good storm.

Yeah, I mean even places like Stone Mountain and Norcross could get like 3-4 from this with just a marginal west bump.  The airport though or Marietta I think needs quite a bit of help to exceed 2.

It’s time to start watching CAMs and that’s the issue- they are the most variable right now. Definitely feel western NC and upstate SC are pretty locked in to good snow, midland SC looks to be trending positively and coastal NC seems set with a good to great event. Triad to triangle to 95 corridor is where the question marks are greatest

Hi,
Long time lurker here. Any color you can give for the Athens outlook is appreciated.

I’m from Dayton, md. Now spend most of the year in Charleston, Sc. If we pull accumulation from this storm it will be two years in a row.

I think Athens is going to see 4 plus from this.  I'd like to be a bit east of them to feel really good but I just think ratios with this will be solid.

12z WN2. This model seems pretty locked in on a version of this solution plus or minus a few inches to the far east

.

Been locked in for days too!
And a reminder that it’s a 10:1 output. We may double that.

New Bern here and this will be our 2nd snow in 2 years. They are generally few and far between. Been here since 96 and our biggest was 8 inches in 2010 I believe. Last year we had 5 inches. The most for this area was in 1989 at just under 12 inches. Wilmington had over a foot with that storm.

So you think Elbert county (36 miles east of athens) will easily see 4 plus?
