I prefer to stay out of them b/c of the bitching and moaning about back-end, flip to mix, etc.  Good call..

It's been a long week of tracking this thing and it's going to end up being half the storm I was hoping it would be. I'm just going to let things happen without having any expectations other than what's falling from the sky in the moment.

Besides...we'll be in a winter wonderland in six days, so we've got that going for us!

I was fortunate because my jurisdiction covered the cost after the fact.  Definitely look into it.  They have a limit of two classes (six credits) every two weeks but you'll get everything done early and just have to sit on it until you can submit.

Yeah that's rad.  My district will cover one class per marking period I think, but that should get me to the pay bump by early next year.  My understanding from a fellow teacher is that when you submit the paperwork to validate your M+30 credits they crank your pay up by the next paycheck.  They're pretty on top of it.

Usually you’re the curse when you’re out there for your Wisp weekend, it’s 45 and rain.  Glad your mojo has improved :pimp:

I have the worst feeling I'm gonna be jebwalking at 4am tomorrow morning and I'm gonna start feeling sleet.  I think I have DC snowstorm PTSD

Definitely trying to decide whether I stay up late, wake up early, or both.

Staying up all night is a recipe for disaster, I definitely have to get at least some sleep.

I work late and I stay up super late anyways so I'm just gonna pull an all-nighter so not much of a decision to me.  I just really think the early morning hours are gonna be the best snow rippage of the storm by far.

If only it helped everyone else

I do a ton of Christmas decorating so I leave it up longer than most. So with the storm coming, I've been getting my morning coffee, firing up the laptop for tracking, lighting the tree and village, running the train, and listening to classical Christmas music.  It's been a great week.

Ah classical Christmas music? Awesome :D Who do you listen to? Always looking for things to add to the playlist for next year

Oh, man, I love classical but I only recognize the greats and would have no idea who to recommend to someone with the handle maestro.  I just ask Alexa to put on an Apple Music playlist.  I also love 40's jazz and crooners.

I have one more obs question for anyone who knows. I know from this morning that snow and sleet are reported together, but freezing rain / ice accretion is reported separate. Once we flip to ZR, should I take a snow/sleet measurement and clear the board, rather than wait for the usual 6-hour interval? Tried to search this online but didn't get a clear answer. It wasn't clear to me what to do if we go to snow -> ZR -> back to snow and when we should measure.

This is the first legit mixing event I've ever tried to officially measure, so I want to make sure I'm getting this right.

Hahaha Hey literally any orchestra, brass band, choirs, soloists...and anybody else who elevate Christmas carols (i.e. Mormon Tabernacle)

Yeah that's my impression is that the early hours are going to be the snow watching jackpot.

I am a little embarrassed to admit that I added Violin Phonix's "Silence" to my personal Christmas playlist.

I'm only guessing, but I would think take it when the flip happens to ZR.

My cover might be blown.

Wife: what time are we leaving Sunday, when does the snow start?

Me: oh I'm not sure when it starts, I assume we'll just leave mid morning on Sunday (hee hee)

Wife: you've been monitoring this storm nonstop all week, don't tell me you don't know when it's gonna start snowing

Me: Ehhhh, uhhhh, depends on the warm nose and 850 temps and other stuff we won't know for sure til Sunday morning.  Virga!

Wife:....

Thought your last word was viagra on first read. Sort of made sense in context.

I tried that for sleeping and all it did was make me worry that my basement was going to flood.

LOL. My wife likes to listen to either a crackling fire or rain falling to go to sleep. A big change from my 'widower' stage when I fell asleep to hockey playing on TV.
