I actually grew up near Chicago, in NW Indiana until I was 27 and moved to NJ for 8 years. The climo difference between these 3 places is wild work lol.

I decided since we are only going to get a brief front end thump then sleet then plain rain here on the eastern shore I am heading up to Blue Knob in Pa to ride out this storm and do some skiing! I already had a place there Wed-Sun so decided to just head up tomm am and spend the week. Hoping for 12"+ on the mountain!

Oh I got NO IDEA how FGEN works. Notice how all my good posts are in the 3-5days before a storm range as synoptics is what I know. Though from my video I hope you can apply some of it over to FGEN.

Well then, in that case, it would be great if you could explain to me vorticities and how they interact and what we would want for a Winter Storm vs nothing and each little piece affects things downstream

Hey thanks for doing this! Well, the biggest thing is those H5 vorticity maps you guys always share when there's a storm, and what a phase looks like. I never quite know what I'm looking at as it looks like spaghetti sauce to me, lol
