actually I think thought they touched 26 and change Feb 2003?   ..I coulda swore.  I know the president's day storm did 27.5 total, not sure about the 24 hour part

Yeah both Feb ‘78 and Feb ‘03 beat April ‘97 for storm total but neither of them beat the 24 hour record from ‘97.

Boston in Feb '78 had snow at rates of up to 4 inches/hr, combined with hurricane-force winds and coastal flooding due to a record storm surge.  This storm will be tame compared to that one.

Does anyone actually stake tip-ups on the lake but outside of the shacks?  Doesn’t seem to be the case.   Also, is that a Jerry-rigged power line set-up overhead?

We’re actually on the Kennebec River fishing for smelts

Looks like a bit of an inv trof

Def is showing an IVT hanging back and when that stronger vort energy hits it, some nice precip blossoms.

It shows some pretty nice snows right into late Monday night over eastern areas. Some spots get over 0.30” of liquid between 18z Monday and the end of the storm. That would prob be very high ratio fluff and take storms totals to higher end of the ranges.

Im still ambiguous on how Monday plays out but an 18z NAM version would be very good.

Yeah, 18z NAM upped the ante. Over 2” in SE MA on that run.

It was flatter with the first round but then the trough coming in sharpened up a bit more vs 12z and helped with Monday.

3k gives you a 20-burger even with 10 to 1 ratios.
