Yea that was a pretty classic winter storm, just with a lot more moisture than normal. If the sleet areas held the bad ZR would be pretty limited and most would have several inches of concrete with fluff on top. Not a sexy storm but that would be quite fun given the alternatives we’ve seen. Let’s see others trend that way before getting too excited but it’s pretty obvious what needs to happen to achieve somewhat of a win here

I don't think the media is taking these freezing rain totals as seriously as they should. Vast areas of some states with 1 to 2 inches of freezing rain is very dangerous.

The model showed the rain line in southern Johnston. And the wedge was not depicted as robustly.

You gotta be really careful what you take literally from theirs or any “futurecast”. It’s purely to give a gist and is usually off. Their package software is wonky. Yet they still show it.

It’s comical at this point the difference between the Euro and GFS. Our two leading models are hundreds of miles apart 3 days out?

OK, my bad. It is totally possible that non frozen reaches southern Johnston county. I see close to wake and think Raleigh. I believe Raleigh remains frozen the whole time. The wedge can't overcome the warm gulf moisture tapping into warmer gulf stream moisture. The southern coastal plain might remain rain all together. Still not analysis, but ok. No hard feelings. Don't ever move SE of Wake if you hope to see frozen.

I live in SE Wake-and often that is sooo different from Derm or Chapel hill
