As of 9 am, 1.2" new snow at 32F. Looks like another 30-40 minutes of snow to go for this first round as per the radar. Not sure how long the lull will last, but if the HRRR model is to be believed, we won't get much snow from about 10 am to 2 pm, after which snow should pick up again through early evening.

As of 10 am the snow has lightened up considerably and we have 1.7" of new snow (1/2" the last hour); likely just on and off light snow for the next 3-4 hours. It's 32F.

Nice burst of snow. About an inch down, roads snow covered out but temp has ticked up to 33.

from highway cams it’s raining at the beaches and south of montauk highway

Glad there’ll be snow on the ground when I come home.

I’m in brightwaters, and it’s still snowing, not raining. Granted it’s not accumulating

Snow stopping here. Just a dusting.

Temp is 34

Looks like locations along the shore remained quite warm with round 1. Some of those mesos yesterday showing rain for round 1 weren't off. I'm glad NWS hasn't triggered a winter storm warning for anywhere. HRRR isn't most accurate with this one IMO, it showed there barely being a lull at all, but we'll likely lull until 4 pm or so and then we get into the heavier stuff. Luckily, the sun will be down by then, so it'll be easier to accumulate as long as its colder.

Any reports from Central Park?

Have about 1-1.5" on north shore Queens, tapering down now. CPK was around 32 for most of the time, so maybe they picked up an inch

For areas to the west like jersey,  where i saw lots of rain reports,  that maybe true but a lot of Long Island started out colder then forecast and as all snow, for the most part....

not sure how accurate the HRRR is or how much stock we should put into it. They didn't even have a lull for most of us. And where the precipitation has been lighter, there has been white rain along the shorelines with temps spiking up a bit. Rest of the storm will hinge on the snow this evening.

Doubt it, it didn’t start accumulating until a few hours in. I’d say coating to 0.5 at most but I’m just eyeballing from my apartment.

Updated to limit rain and rain/snow mix along the coast as
warmer air is no longer expected to moves into the coastal
areas. Otherwise, snowfall totals remain about the same with
widespread 3 to 5 inch amounts across the forecast area. The
Winter Weather Advisories remain in effect as issued.
