Yeah I don't know what else to say. I mean December was not bad overall and it could have been worse. Sure I guess we could have had more snow given how cold it was and yes some areas got more than others, but it wasn't a shutout and nobody got shutout. Were people expecting 20-30"? We get snow...people complain because it wasn't enough, we don't get snow and people complain. People want snow and there are offerings of potential and people complain. I don't even know what the expectations are anymore lol

I think some people are stuck on the fact that many spots got single digit totals for December and they dread what it might mean for the rest of the winter since it’s a colder ENSO state.

I don’t know the sample size of such winters so you can’t be too confident in these inferences.

It’s sucked in 95% of the area

The storm or December?

I think for CT its been a good-very good December. Definitely the best here since 2020.

Probably gonna end up around -5 for December, above average snowfall with many days of snow cover, can't ask for much more than that. Just speaking for CT and specifically S CT.

Should end up around 12" for DEC here.

Absolutely.  It does suck for some areas, but it’s been pretty good here. This is the 2015 WOR payback I guess lol.

Well since it was good in his driveway, it makes up for everyone apparently. See a pattern here? One good snow event changes the entire narrative, just like one cold month in a sea of warmth.

Like I said, one decent snow event doesn’t make up for the torture of the last 5 years

I certainly see your pattern.  Congrats on Thursday…you should do better than most, but you’ll still bitch and moan.

When you look at what fell in most areas and especially the departures we have, it became a wasted month aside from pond hockey. That’s what sucks. You know next December will be +5 loaded with rain events.

There was a lot of action…your area just didn’t get any of it.  Sucks. Maybe Thursday you Jack pot.  Be a nice way to ring in the new fresh year. :snowing:

I was fine with the last event. I can simultaneously enjoy a snow event and recognize that the big picture has blown

Not for all of us. Out this way has been pretty decent.  Thursday you should do better than us.  Hope so for you guys.

A psychologist would have a field day reading this thread. It's amusing from an outsiders perspective.

You have those are depressed, those who have anxiety, those with OCD, those with narcissistic disorder and some with bipolar. Then there are those who are relatively normal and rational.

Im sure other forums are similar in some respects, but this group really takes the cake. Thank you for the entertainment!

BTW, its been a great December on Long Island, which shares more characteristics with SNE than the Mid Atlantic. Cheers to a good January.

I dunno, did you see the NYC thread on December 26th? I've never such a dumpster fire before like that

December in general. Aside from srn CT and maybe the cape it’s been disappointing when it comes to snowfall, especially given how cold it was and given how warm recent December’s have been. Just feels like we got porked again.

That's true, there are definitely meltdowns as well. Would be nice to have a large east coast storm where everyone can get a win. Feels like its been a while. A real Philly to Bos special

colder than normal here, but December snow has been perfectly average. 16” avg Dec, 16.5” MTD. If not for that warm Rainer a week or so ago I would be perfectly content and able to ride the local trails.
