Probably the case. On the bright side, we may not like the trend over the last 24 hours but keep in mind that this is what the Euro looked like 4 days ago, at least we're not getting a rainstorm

Anyone well versed in how flights into HPN get affected on the incoming portion of a snow system? My family is out here in the Chicago area and they're supposed to take off at 2:13pm local and land at 5:26pm EST tomorrow. It's a little tricky with how the snow will be moving in by that time, vs. well underway regarding delays and cancellations.

i think the snow moves in after 7 even in that area. They should be good... safe flight and Merry Christmas

  8 inches. Highest amounts are expected from near Riverhead on

  westward. The north and south forks will likely see a sharper

  gradient with amounts 2 to 5 inches.

 

* WHERE...Northeast Suffolk and Southeast Suffolk Counties.

 

* WHEN...From 7 PM Friday to 1 PM EST Saturday.

 

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions

  could impact the Friday evening commute.

Will be a dicey situation. Snow should come in between 4-6pm. They should be able to get it. Then again it’s HPN. Small runway, etc.
