Haven’t had any such luck recently. There is a path to a solid advisory, no matter how small it is A lot of those events just didn’t have the confluence that we have with this one. It would start out as a wave moving off of NC and just tickle NW each run.

ORH_wxman
Only out to 20 hours, but 18z NAM prob gonna join the rest of guidance…not quite as suppressed with heights over GL/Northeast as 12z run. Not a total shock as the NAM was one of the most suppressed runs at 12z.
TauntonBlizzard2013
Through 24, NAM definitely looks better. More consolidated and a bit north. We’ll see how that translates

weatherwiz
You might have to worry about some llvl subsidence on that north of Long Island (minus maybe the south coast (don't know why I said Cape Cape)

CoastalWx
Boosted the mid levels I think to give the S coast a decent event.

Need that shortwave to maintain its strength. It still ended up almost identical, which isn’t going to get it done. I had some hope it may be better, but nope
CoastalWx
It looked better overall to me. But it was also the most paltry at 12z.

Another nudge or two like that, and like Will alluded to earlier, many in the pike region and south could be happy. The shortwave maintained its strength, which is the path to something decent.

It’s more about the arm of confluence. As long as that can lift north it will help bring that snow shield north. But it’s only going to shift so much. I’d like it to shift more since I think some dry air will try to work into this area.
