Yea looks like the heaviest rates are to the E/SE of the ROA valley. You all look to do a good bit better.

Rates starting to pick up. Measured 1.75" just now. Thus far it has been a pretty wet snow.

Temperatures have crashed in the past couple hours from 33 degrees to 28 degrees in Charlottesville. Generally having some lighter rates (smaller dendrites I think) but still moderate intensity. Wonder if the roads will cave if we get back into some heavier rates like the Nam and HRRR suggest around 1pm.

Noon report. Have 2.5 OTG, temp 31.5 DP 29.6 with light snow falling. Flakes have consistently gotten smaller in last hour, must be drying a bit upstairs.

Clean 2" in these parts so far. Lost some due to warmish start and not high ratio stuff but a beautiful scene and pretty breezy so sideways snow at times lol. Oscillating between light/mod right now. 3-4" tops still seems good unless ratios jump.  Deep winter day for sure either way

Its one of the most classic "movie" snows I've seen with small flakes but coming down fast and sticking to everything.

There was much more accumulation already in the Bon Air neighborhood south of Richmond. Back in the city proper, it’s still a heavy coating, and the snowflakes are large in quantity, but very, very tiny otherwise.

3 pm numbers. 3.3 inches OTG, temp dropping, down to 27.9/25.0. Decent moderate snow falling now.
