 Actually snow total...  .75 of an inch is what I reported to NWS for skywarn... Not much lol but not bad for a first snow on Dec 5-6th !

 And I'm actually still getting very light snow falling... I thought it woulda ended over night lol

A little more snow fell on yesterday evening's coating...I just left that in place and measured what was there this morning, 0.5". This brings event total to 1".

Once again LWX overwrote my 1.5” (which matched everyone nearby on Cocorahs) and replaced it with the ridiculously overinflated 3.0” from State Highway behind my house. I think I’ll just submit on Cocorahs from now on and not bother sending them in.

Edit: it looks like the 1.5" '5 ENE Benedict' obs from Cocorahs is mine on their map, right next to the 3.0" from State Highway LMAO

Sun has broken out from behind the clouds and temp has soared to 39.2 degrees at 11:15 am, looks like it is raining in the woods from the snow melting off the trees.

Now lemme tell ye how it was during blizzard of.66.    We took the grainy black and white pictures then mailed a roll of film in and got it back in a week and passed the pictures around

Amazing pictures! What did you use to shoot them (especially the drone shots as they seem far nicer than what I can get with my mini 2). As others said that bridge shot is something special.

Final shots of the snow (heavily compressed if anyone knows how to seamlessly link to an actual image hosting site please let me know!) before I'm forced to lock myself in a windowless room for finals studying. I've loved getting to track this storm from the synoptic stuff down to radar nowcasting and then getting to enjoy it while it snowed. Thank you to everyone who posted in this thread!

Thank you! I used a DJI Mavic 3 Classic. I agree that is probably the one that came out best. It is actually why I chose Farmville specifically.

Ah, I've considered if its worth upgrading to that one. I didn't know Farmville had a bridge like that but its only an hour and a half from where I'm at currently so next event I might need to make the trek down there. Once again though those pictures are just amazing.

Reviewing my event snowfall forecast and I think I did pretty well. Only real miss was underestimating how far east the northern extent of the 2-4 would reach as it ended up getting close to Cville itself.

Thank you and it is on the High Bridge Trail which was an old rail line converted for walking/hiking etc. This bridge is over the Appomattox River a few miles outside the actual town.

You will. Snow gods are already smiling on the Mid Atlantic. Dec 5th snows are special and are only a taste. Wait til you see what later Dec and Jan, Feb and Morch have in store snow wise! That western ridge will become semi permanent.

They marked me as a "Trained Spotter" in their PNS report instead of NWS Employee as well. I'll have a talk with a few of their mets because this is ridiculous.

LWX did that to me once last winter but under reported my total. I sent an email with a photo of my measurement and they fixed it.

When I’ve contacted LWX before they said it was a glitch in their system because we’re both in the same spot, but that my reports were still in their system. I think the bigger issue has been why they still keep accepting these questionable ‘Dept. of Highways’ reports to begin with. That started about two years ago and several people on here have been calling out reports from State Highway that looked incorrect. It sounds like much of this has been automated though.

I thought it was automated too until I had a report edited to be a different total.
