Final snowfall totals across Toronto were around 16-21". YYZ lowballed as usual at 9".

Closer to 12" near downtown.

It was the same system that surprised us. The arctic front interacted with the low pressure system sooner than modeled. I dont doubt the lake helped a lil but it was mostly synoptic

Agreed.

It came as a surprise to models hence why some forecasts busted too low. Mostly related to upper air interactions.

This storm was purely synoptic for us.

It doesn’t snow in Michigan

Solid 3-4" at home today. Brushed 4" off the car in Grayling. Kinda fluffy but freezing drizzle in the lower elevations was making the roads horrible and stuck to your windshield making it hard to even see ahead. Worst winter stuff!

not sure why either.

most guidance actually did very well in handling that narrow corridor of snowfall.

On top of that, it snowed most of the rest of the day yesterday (which was NOT forecast). We actually set a daily record due to the ridiculous ratios.

Nothing to see here. Go about your business.

The WWA for me is really for the northern third of the county. I’ll end up with two inches of wind swept snow over the course of 24 hours.
