So my Dolphins are apparently a rumored trade destination for Lamar.  Hypothetically, if it were to happen, would Ravens fans be sad to see him go?  That will tell me a lot about whether I should be hopeful or not.

Good luck with obtaining Lamar when your team owes Tua like 54 million next year, and no other team wants him.

Lamar is having an injury riddled year, and his contract situation going forward is a major issue. IMO not many teams would be takers because their cap situation simply wont allow it. Maybe a team like the Raiders? Personally, I am neutral on Lamar at this point. Great talent when healthy but the Ravens need at least a partial rebuild, and not sure how they accomplish that with his contract situation going forward. The OL is atrocious and if they cant make significant improvements there then Lamar will end up like Burrow.. its already happening.

eta- If the Dolphins cut Tua, that leaves them with $99M of dead money. Again, good luck. Your team is pretty much stuck.

No kidding; I was never sold on Tua even coming out of college.  I don't question his heart but he just doesn't have the body to take NFL pounding, and it seems as if he just doesn't have the skill to do the reads if his first target is taken away.  But he had that good year at just the right time and they threw ridiculous money at him.

I was kind on interested in getting a fan's eye view of Lamar though.  For an outsiders view it seems as if he is stagnating.  Maybe it's just the injuries or the line play or a combination.  I wonder if he might benefit from a change of scenery.

Storm is winding down in Mammoth, one more area of heavy snow then mostly cloudy and cold down to 10 degrees. Mammoth got nearly 6 feet, Palisades got 5 feet. Both are open for business; however Mammoth will be shut down thru Saturday for avalanche mitigation and trail prep. Many ski resorts across the region will bring in the New Year with a crisp deep blanket of pow.

Now what we need is a reloading of the Pattern with cold and snow threats across the Mid Atlantic as we prepare to bring in the New Year!

A cool as hell thing for me anyway - there is an eagle who clearly has a nest quite close by the farm - seeing him/her several times a week now - just a stunner living in this proximity to an eagle - hopefully will never get used to seeing it in flight. Stunning.

And seeing eagles that frequently is an amazing conservation success story. When I started birdwatching as a teenager in the 90s, you pretty much only saw them around Conowingo dam in Harford county and a few other select spots in central MD with any regularity. Now it's totally normal to just randomly see them around, sometimes far from waterways.

Facts. I moved here in the 90s and began to see them, and pretty regularly, the "APG" eagle population. Even then Conowingo was the hottest spot I knew of. They are so much more widespread now, it is wonderful. Lucky enough  to see them nearly every day here on the Bush River but to N Balti Zen's comments...no...have never really gotten used to how amazing it is to see them, they take my breath away every time.

Osprey too. Read a nonfiction book this year written in the 70s and the author was wondering if they would go extinct soon given how rapidly their  population had declined in his lifetime.

i shot the one above with a 300 mm Nikon lens. @Ian taught me on here to invest in good glass!

Got you. It's quite a pic. Agreed on Ian's talent (and wish he were still here).
