Be nice to cover up the bare spots created from the 40mph winds early this morning. Had a 48mph gust at my station early this morning. While it was breezy pre-frontal that front/wind shift from the S to the W was abrupt, like in 5 min, and hit like a freight train with consistent gusts over 45mph. Woke me and the dog up lol.

Brian D
Chilly morning with sd's inland (0 at Hibbing), and teens on the shore. Cold, clipper pattern the next few days. Should see some below zero readings this week around the area here, especially on clear, calm mornings. DLH is good at underestimating those. Not unreasonable to add another 5 to 10d colder to what they put out.
Brian D
-SN falling this morning along the North Shore ahead of the clipper. That snow should be moving through later today sometime, and stay on the light side. Snow machines continue to hum along this week for the ski hills.
michsnowfreak Posted yesterday at 01:29 AM Share Posted yesterday at 01:29 AM We've been missing the heaviest snows but make no mistake, winter has set in early this year! Single digits on the way Thursday night. Took this this evening as the moon made the snow glisten.
Jackstraw Posted yesterday at 02:10 AM Share Posted yesterday at 02:10 AM Looking at the snowfall reports from last night. Nearly everyone that missed out over the weekend got some good coverage. Just about the entire sub, literally, has a halfway decent snowpack. When was the last time that happened? Its been a long time I bet when we can go across the lakes and the OH river and all points in between covered in snow, and not just dusted. And to kick off Dec. no less. Good stuff! 2

hlcater
Need the clipper this weekend to trend stronger A-la the euro to ward off scary evil spirits (the baroclinic zone). Stronger lead wave suppresses everything that follows it leading to a less amplified, further SW storm track. 1

Pellice
Recent arrival here, relocating from NJ to Cincinnati. I was told there was less winter here! 5 inches Monday night, and now embedded in one of the more severe cold snaps I've experienced since 2018, It's been some time since I've experienced more than a week when highs barely touched freezing.
