There are certain people in that sub that were constantly bickering and complaining about the "lack of snow" or that they may never see a big storm again or every storm is a cutter, etc for a couple years now including this winter. And this on the heels of one of the snowiest periods in NYC history (2000-2021) where they only averaged 5 true below normal seasons in this 21 year period. 

But as were constantly reminded, weather is cyclical and so is climate. One or two bad winters don't define a season and a stretch of warm or cold winters don't signal a change in climate. We only have so much actual recorded history.

The climate humans have created is not cyclical.

next sun/mon/tues period is looking interesting? recent ensembles seem to have trended south some, maybe one last gasp of winter back home before a week in the 60s

Yeah but it seems Chicago has benefitted more from LES events than normal this winter for being on the wrong side of the lake. I don't have statistics for it though.

Maybe tomorrow I’ll check to see how much of the seasonal snow thus far this season was pure LES.

Roughly just over 4" of the current seasonal snowfall total of 32.3" was pure LES.

Humans are awful but there’s very few people who have room to bitch. Unless you’re Amish, you’re most likely using technology that contributes to adding greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. My life along with most people in 1st world countries is significantly better than if it was 1886. I might even be dead now from one of my infections in my life that required antibiotics if it was 1886. Rant over now.

november and february were essentially swapped.
