Yeah when central and srn VA is having the snowiest December in years….you just tip your cap to Mother Nature.

Call me lazy, and meteorologically inept, but short, mid and long range for this month look like a.ss for snow chances (and not a nice a.ss, but a big, sloppy, Lizzo type of a.ss).

Well at some point things have to change. My son had a nice frustrating moment looking at the models. Just looked at the euro and said this is BS. Couldn’t even be mad at the cursing. Proud daddy moment. I just looked at him and said welcome to my youth. Just be glad you were around for some biggies since I had none until high school.

On Christmas? In 2015 when it was humid and 70, I was sweating my balls off. I’ll pass on that.

No it’s more than that. Past three day we’re running like 5F-7F colder.

As I said, there’s been a very significant seasonal gradient persistent for more than just one storm/pack.

Highs past three days:
 

PSM: 23, 34, 36

Islip NY: 36, 45, 46

Really? So everybody around you in every direction gets snow, but SNE doesn’t, and that’s the new norm?  Laughable. Fast flow or not, everybody/every area seems to benefit from it…but SNE?  That’s just Bad frieken luck.
 

Richmond VA will probably have a seasons worth of snow by mid week. Fast flow doesn’t seem to be hurting them? Mid west is buried. Plains buried. This was the 80’s. They sucked for winter, and They’re back.  2-4” in the 80’s was a good storm. 3-6” was very significant.  And 4-8”’was a HECS.  Well 40 plus years later we’ve come full circle.  Embrace the suck.  At some point it will change…and swing back. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

So what’s your point? That Portsmouth is colder than Long Island? Lol…that’s a shocker.  I get your saying that there’s a gradient, but the fact that SNE can’t seem to get some precip in here, isn’t a temp problem imo.

The leaf blowers never stop here.  Green grass, ice storm, deep snow cover, nuclear winter; it doesn't matter.  The sound of leaf blowers here is analogous to the sound of rushing water near Niagara falls.

Thank you. Some of these people are living in an alternate reality.  Sucks we’ve been whiffing…but it ain’t like this hasn’t happened before. But you’d swear by some of these posts that were in the twilight zone.

The other thing that is an issue is this perpetual trough off CA. Like it’s just sitting there waiting to eff up a nice developing ridge. Can we get a clean west coast ridge for once?

And others saying what a horrid winter it’s been….wtf? Winter hasn’t even begun.  And yes, it will suck to waste all this good cold, but everybody aground us is gonna be balls deep in the white stuff…so maybe take a ride and see it.  And Something should pop..let’s see what happens over the next week or so. All you can do is keep swinging, eventually we’ll make some solid contact.

It was 70 plus that day here in interior CT…parakeets were flying by Xmas eve mass.
