I recall one when I was high school and another in college . Both dropped like 5-6” in a very narrow zone over the central portion of CT . But west of about HFD the stars were out

When is this fraud 5 supposedly progged for?  They’re notoriously hard to pin down…when they do rarely happen.

I saw some birds heading south earlier.. a little late. They were probably expecting another warm winter

My favorite inv trough is prob March 2013 (or 14?)..but honestly can't remember any notable ones since down this way

Not sure it was ivt but didn't the "96 blizzard end end with one padding huge totals on the s coast?  I forget, maybe that was just ccb

Then CT got 4-8” from another IVT the 8-9th check on the site.

ccb or maybe just ocean enhanced? the big ones always end up with those stat padding streamers..ala 2005 and 2015

we had two that season, one dropped about 10 in Waterbury at the time but over a foot in southbury/Oxford area, the other was not as impressive but still dropped a half foot in Waterbury for mby... still the most snow depth I've ever experienced in the 2010-11 season. Had 37" on the roof at the peak, that was the roof rake season.

Yup had 10” with that one in early January…that was the start of that epic run..unreal.

if I recall the records, was the best Jan for that area inch wise in history... would have been even better if the ground hogs day storm verified as it was supposed to

One of them was Dec 13, 1988….i remember I thought how lucky we were to get 1-2” but it turned out just west of ORH about 3 towns over had 6”. That would’ve extended down to your area.

Yes .. that had to be it . Both were in December . I was in drivers Ed and had a class that night . It was a late afternoon into night event so that would have made me 16. We had a solid 6” in that one . The other one would have been in the early /mid 90’s

March 21-22, 2013. Local jackpot over a foot near Acushnet/Fairhaven/Mattapoisett but I think your old place in Wareham had at least 8-10”? If not more. That was a real good one. Very intense where it happened. I remember tracking that one late evening on the 21st. I’m sure we could find the thread.

One good part about this pattern is that it looks very active in the flow. Sometimes we’ll get cold patterns and then have to wait days and days to see even a decent shortwave show up in the flow but this is not one of those looks. It doesn’t mean we get buried but you always want to increase your odds. 
 

Getting a bit out in clown range, but it looks active even after any potential reload mid-month.

Feb 93 was a crazy one on the Cape. 2’ in Chatham with 4”/hr. That was your classic NORLUN. I remember watching Bob Copeland and just getting so angry lol.

I remember shoveling my girlfriends garage roof(had a very low angle on it) at the very end of January that year(2011), and the roof had 36-38” on it…and the middle was so dense and icy…frieken nuts. Took like 4 hrs to do.   We had piles so high that we were jumping off the roof into them.

I lived in Acushnet at the time and had 7" or 8". Just south of me along 195 got near a foot. Messenger in Manomet did well too iirc
