Thats my point. Upper air flow in eastern conus has been doing its thingy. They always predict an average to above average hurricane season unless el nino is present. However, they do seem to break out a little more science to try to figure out the land falling part.

ChescoWx Posted yesterday at 12:38 PM Author Share Posted yesterday at 12:38 PM Many of our valley spots across the area saw lows this morning in the 30's with the lowest being our typical coldest spot up in Warwick Township at 33.2 degrees. While some higher spots like West Grove only made it as low as 42.8 degrees. There are a couple of below normal temperature days on the way both today and tomorrow before we moderate to near normal by Saturday and briefly above normal on Sunday before we chill down again to start the new work week. Next rain chances arrive on Sunday night with the next cold front.

Think our local guy down here is going to go the same route...he's already hinted at the continuation of drought and said we have a well below normal chance of a big dog snowstorm. We shall see. It only takes a couple of well-timed systems to muck up an extended outlook.

I remember last year he said he was diagnosed with a health problem. I don’t think he’s posted since, but hopefully he is recovering well. He loves the 540 line & he loved talking about rare October snow.

Very much hope to be wrong.

pawatch
29 degrees this morning another heavy frost. Guess it about time to fire my coal stove up. My granddaughter was one of the ones nominated for homecoming queen. I get to drive her around the football field tonight in my convertible. Would it be cheating, driving around with the top down and the heated seats on Fall is here and winter not far away. There is 2 big chestnut trees in the neighbors yard. The squirrels have been very busy. Enjoy your weekend!

ChescoWx
Some of our colder valley locations saw temperatures again this morning below freezing. Here in East Nantmeal on the ridges of the Welsh Mountain anticline at 685 feet ASL we only got down to 39.1 degrees this morning. Another below normal day today with ridge locations struggling to get out of the 50's for high temperatures. We do warm over the weekend with temperatures reaching as high as the low 70's on Sunday before we begin another chill down next week with below normal temperatures by mid-week. We have some good shower chances by later Sunday into the evening.

Itstrainingtime
There is no real good reason for me to feel the way I do much less say this...I think Penn State is going to Iowa City and winning tomorrow night. Gut feeling, we're going to see the team that we thought we were going to see back on August 30th but never materialized. I think it'll be close and the Lions pull it off with a late turnover. I'm in a pick em' league here at work - it's both NFL and NCAA. We have 24 in the group. Last night, 23 had the Steelers, 1 had the Bungles. Guess who had Cincinnati? I will gladly accept whatever wrath I deserve following tomorrow night's game.
