Hour past nooners and 83 here...so far. Part of me wishes we'd stay this warm through Halloween. Outside of a few early turners, nearly all the trees are still summer green. The anomaly lover in me wants to see how long it would hold, or would the lack of sunlight/photosynthesis turn them regardless of the summer-like temps.

Most plants are aborting at this point because of low moisture in the rhizospher. You need a shorter day than where we're at at this point to trigger etiolation in most plants and trees. However, auxins and other hormones are tied to photo period length and temperature. If the cooler temperatures don't cause abscission, first the shorter photo period eventually will.

That's kind of what I thought.

Quite the spread in low temperatures across the area this morning. While many lower spots like Warwick Township saw temperatures in the mid 40’s (44.2) other ridge locations like down in West Grove almost stayed above 60 degrees (59.7) Today could be one of our last days until next spring to see temperature approach the 80-degree mark. We cool a few degrees tomorrow and then with some needed rain and a cold front passage on Tuesday night we will see temperatures on Wednesday remaining in the 60’s and by Thursday some spots may barely escape from the 50’s for high temperatures. Low temperatures by Friday morning should be in the 30’s for much of the area with even a touch of frost for some of typically colder valley locations. Rainfall amounts by Wednesday morning could be between 0.50” and 1.00”

They did not deserve that preseason ranking but money has a lot more to say about that then talent.

.

I was wondering myself why they opened the season so far up in the rankings.  Outta the top 25 is not surprising......

now watch em beat OSU in a couple weeks :)

Sark’s not going anywhere after back to back playoff runs.

And Franklin has a $56m buyout. He’s not being fired - they can’t afford it.

I know many wanted him gone for years now.  I'm not sure thats warranted, but I'm guessing he now knows its time to change some things before he gets walkin papers.  Not sure he can do it, but we'll find out soon enough.

Morning GFS has a huge coastal storm this upcoming weekend. Unfortunately, not much in the way of rainfall makes it west of I95 for now.

saw that.  It'd be nice for it to hook a little left and pay us a visit.  I'm ready for a cool rainy weekend, so that I can enjoy some non chore time (just got my list pretty much cleaned up yesterday).  Bring it.
