wdrag
Shower-thunderstorm-cloud debris event today has suppressing impact on MAX T here... hoping we can reach 90-92 at 530P. How it plays exactly I dont know. 00z/06z/22 M-W GEFS and NWS BOM numbers a little less than the amped EPS. Can't be sure what happens and for now stay the course...but offer hope that this heat episode might not be quite as dire as headlined but still significant life impact in our area. Urging: Continue preparedness as stated in NWS products. Seems like better chance for the headline 4 day period verifying in Philly--DC areas. They're pretty used to this mid summer but no doubt it's still a vigorous potent early season heat episode. Action packed afternoon-evenings late Wed 6/25 into early July and lawns-gardens will have brief significant dousings etc. In essence... headline confidence slightly lower but will let the numbers decide the next 4 days.

No, I've never been that ambitious to trudge over there for a measurement. I just consider my Riverside Park measurements to be a good enough proxy. And honestly, the temp at my location might be one of the better proxies for CPK you'll find. Per this map from a few years ago we are lucky enough to live in one of the "coolest" spots in Manhattan - this little tongue that extends to the river in the low 100s.

Do they have a map like this for Nassau County too, Ralph?

In Central Park it's a measly 7.1 degrees lol
winterwx21
Some thunder here with light rain. I see the clouds extend way to the north. Without much clearing today, obviously it's going to be a big underperformer as far as high temps. Maybe we won't even hit 90? Bust today, but of course the big heat is still on for the next few days.
Tatamy
Overcast with light rain here as well. Looks like we get a reprieve from the heat today (or at least part of the day). 77 F
MANDA
Based on latest radar / satellite not expecting much sun until 1:00 P.M. or so. Forecast highs in the m/u 90's going to take a hit. Best case is low 90's late afternoon in the hottest spots? Going to be hot and humid no matter later on. Just light showers and few rumbles of thunder here so far this morning but that is one thick cloud deck. Been extremely dark since around 8am. Per radar heaviest rains and possible severe mainly over NEPA.
