This weekend should feature above normal temperatures and still humid before we see a nice cool down to start the new work week and that should last through much of the new work week. Sunday looks like our last above normal temperature day for at least the next week or so. There are some rain and storm chances especially across Western Chester and SE Berks Counties later this afternoon into the evening. Otherwise dry through at least mid-week.

Yesterday was our warmest day so far this month with a couple spots even reaching 90 degrees for the first time in August. Today may be a couple degrees cooler before again reaching well into the 80's on Sunday. We then see a front swing through on Sunday night and behind this we turn much cooler for the rest of the week with high temperatures remaining in the 70's by day and upper 50's to lower 60's by night. Slight chances of showers most days of the week with the greatest chances by Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Today will be our 6th straight above normal temperature day. It will also be our last such day for at least the next week as we should see temperatures at or below normal levels much of the time. It looks like we have a good chance at finishing August with below normal temperatures. If so this would be the 4th below normal month over the first 8 months of the year. We could see some rain and thunderstorms especially this evening with the cold frontal passage. The line should move west to east across the area between 6pm and 8pm. Any storms could produce a 1/4" to 1/2" of much needed rain as we have had very little rain across the northern parts of Chester and SE Berks counties so far here in August.

Drought guy could make a return pretty soon. Looks like after today, high pressure will dominate our pattern for the next 2 weeks with not many chances of rain. Dews in the 40s and 50s next week should be nice though.

Drought cancel uncancel cancel

Ripping hard again feels like another 2" and 6" on the month

Wow, did not expect nearly an inch of rain this evening. A welcome surprise and good fortune in the center of that band of heavy showers heading into very dry weather pattern.

1.25  at my house. Nice steady downpours tonight. There is no drought now with over 3.5 in the past week.  The soybeans are the greenest I have seen them in a long time. Dewpoints in the 40's will be welcomed- more evening fires in the fire pit.

You finally admitted that there is no drought!

My area hasn't been in a drought since about March 5.
