Main thread degenerating as usual, so either way still look good for a reasonable snow event.

The warmer models (NAM) popping up the suggestion of sleet bombs scares me. Sleet is up the totem pole from snow for how much I despise clearing it away.

Clearing it away sucks but give me six inches of snow with two inches of sleet on top and it's all good. Will have a snowpack through January.

Most of the usual suspects and the usual newcomers when it snows have their typical meltdowns.

I had someone call me stupid for even suggesting the possibility of sleet at some point 50 miles north of the city where I am. I'm not sure I'll ever recover.

ok guys and gals let's do this ,,,,,,,6 pm Start time for first flakes or do you people think sooner ?

I had a house full yesterday and was busy enjoying that, did look at much model stiff or help monitor the posters coming out of the woodwork, as is tradition before a snowstorm. Anyway, I would think we will at least see some flakes before 6pm.

Certainly enjoyed it, although I made a little too much merry on Christmas Eve so no holiday hammered for me yesterday but perhaps this evening ;)

Never too much merry Rob and good neighbors are the gold amidst the red and green. As the ‘before’ photo of my postage stamps delusional 36 inch snow gauge shows …..  my inner city, UHI blessed, ocean hugging location is ready. If I’m still here, I’ll post the after photo tomorrow. As always …..

In-laws leaving Friday morning instead of Saturday morning due to the storm...you call that a "win-win".

Close call here, my sister in laws car wouldn’t start this morning…I jumped it and got it all warmed up. The car, not my sister in law, sickos!

Only 4.5" here about 45 minutes ago. I never went full sleet but there definitely was a change in the snow at one point, thought I'd flip to sleet but didn't and then it was full flakes again right after that.

Same here.. Measured 4.8" about an hour ago.

Up to 14.something on the season. Well below temp avg december and a few snowfalls that made the season feel like christmas for the first time in a long time. Anyone complaining is a nutcase.

5.4" here making 17.2" for the season. No complaints here. I could feel the various layers of the different types of snow as I pushed the snow ruler down on the board. I had some sleet and freezing drizzle at some point. So the clean up and piles makes it seem like more since there's a dense layer in there.

Ended up with 5.6 here, 17.2 for the season. A litle less than forecast but an overall excellent December. Lets see if we can keep some snowpack after Mondays upcoming debacle.

I have more confidence in this pack than the one earlier in the week.
