I agree with most of your points, however the NAM and Euro are more similar than you're remembering:

NAM:

Euro:

It takes VERY little to change the totals significantly still. NYC could very well see 8 inches or 20 inches with small 20 mile shifts. And they'd totally be reasonable. That's what makes these storms so hard to predict. And as always banding does whatever the heck it wants. I'm 27 miles west of Brentwood in Queens for perspective. On the NAM output that puts the border of queens almost at 2 feet and the Euro at about 18 inches.

Yup either 18" on the Euro or 24" on the NAM here in SW Nassau too

Meanwhile the overrunning snows are already starting to build over us and to our west. The radar should start to pop soon.. it also seems that the low off florida might keep this baby closer to the coast by acting as a block and setting up the coastal boundry just off the coast and not farther east in to the sargasso sea. It is just about a nowcast situation anyway folks.

That slightly earlier closed low at 500 mb on the NAM making all the difference on the surface maps. "Tucked" and loops to the east of NJ. This is the best case scenario for folks west of NYC.

Mr G on TV was right, he said this one seems to be getting more and more major as we get closer to the event.
