March 20/21 STORM Obs/Discussion- No Banter

Recommended Posts

Moderate snow in Laytonsville area. Accumulation steady and approaching 1" shortly. Banding rotating up from the southeast looks excellent and Central MD through NoVa will see a solid shield congeal over the area in the next several hours. As the upper low pivots eastward, we'll see our best stuff region wide and the radar will slowly collapse eastward late afternoon and evening.

CC would seem to indicate that there isn't any mixing until you get down to St, Mary's County (eastern half) or across to the eastern shore of Maryland.

Well granted I’m under light returns still but I can confirm sleet in Dundalk

Yeah it looks like there's a bit of "fuzziness" over that way - it seems pretty limited in coverage though. It doesn't stretch very far beyond there.

the upper low is starting to make some movement east now per the wind charts.  the 850 circulation is rotating under us now as well.  things could start popping soon.

I just talked to my dad in Waldorf (Charles County, MD).... it’s snowing there... things are getting covered. No sleet.

really the entire circulation at all levels looks to be gelling right over our area now.  gonna be a fun day.  northeast md is in the whoa zone imo.

Small flakes but picking up in intensity. Vis under 2 miles. Patches of snow on driveway and my street.

I’m disappointed so far, but I think things about to get rolling. Well I hope anyway.

Streets and sidewalks have completely caved... just measured 1.1 inches in SE DC at my house.

Moderate snow continues... rates are great... temp still 31

Looks like the radar returns of bright green/yellow, the heaviest snow, are going to impact DC directly.

Over a foot now in Falling Waters, WV with a long way to go.

I think either you or one of the Carroll county guys will be the big winner.
