Wow that must've been a spectacular sight. I can only recall experiencing two other continuous lightning events, there was one back in late 2014 in Suffolk and one last summer in Orlando. Neither storm was nearly as impressive as last night, however all three occurred at night/sundown. It's a shame last night's storms weren't directly overhead though.

Another 80F low for me, I've been at 80F or greater for roughly 50 hours and counting.

There was a really good one in I think 2007 or 2008 along the South Shore of Long Island, but again, it was a nighttime storm. Just nonstop for an hour or so.

The bouys south of Far Rockaway and Fire Island inlet are about the warmest levels that I can remember at 80 and 79 degrees.

NY HARB ENTRANCE 1750 81 80 200/ 6/ 8 1014.3 2/ 6
20S FIRE ISLAND 1750 80 79 220/ 10/ 12 1014.1 3/ 6

81 is the highest ever recorded for the NY Harbor bouy.  Both these links show records of 27.2C, or 81F.
