The average low last February was -10F...handful of -20s thrown in for good measure. That cold isn't going to be touched. That was the average low at my place as well. However, last Feb's coldest morning of -25 was only my 5th coldest for the month of Feb, and the 6 mornings in the -20s merely tied with 2003, a month that was 8.6F less cold than last year. It wasn't so much that daily cold records were set, but that it never warmed up - I think we had about 4 hours milder than 30 the whole month, the mildest minimum was 5 and only two days had lows above +1. Farmington's coldest Feb morning is a -37 in 1962, and last year the lowest there was around -20, while the month as a whole was their coldest Feb by a wide margin, and 3rd coldest (behind Jan 1982 and Jan 1994) for any month.
