Sun (2/2) - Mon (2/3) Storm. Start: Sunday 5- 10PM / End: Mon evening.

NYC (5 boroughs / EWR/ CNJ N of 195))

QPF / Pcc type snow totals

NAM: 1.25 - 1.50 (3 - 6 front end, mix, rain to snow)

GFS : 1.25 - 1.50 (2 - 4, mix, rain to snow)

GEFS: missed

GGEM: 1.50+ (6 - 12, snow to mix to heavy snow)

UKMET: 1.50+ ( 3- 6 snow to rain, back to heavy snow)

What is it like for HPN?

Looks like 6 to 8 on the front for the city and long island and 2 to 4  on the back . They sleet for about 3 hours

Euro suggests that there will be a swath where it's an absolute dumping of snow.  Would not be stunned to see an area (particularly where higher ratios hold up) where a few folks pick up close to 15-18 inches.

Very close to staying all snow .  The N shore of Nassau County may pull off 90 perc snow as per the 12z Euro

Euro puts almost 10" down in nyc and northern Jersey through hr 54, and still going

Not entirely true. The vast majority fell as rain on the south shore. It only changed to snow later on with minimal accumulations only to the existing snow. 

 

 

This isnt a storm for the coast. Luckily it will not torch and destroy the snow pack. It should be mostly absorbed and turned into glacier.

 

My call south shore. Snow to sleet then rain. Then back to snow. 2-4" then rain then 1-2". Total 3-6"

Those maps likely count sleet as snow. 

 

Not to rain on the parade too much but we can't ignore that the Euro nudged north again. Another nudge (common in these types of systems) and it looks a lot more like the GFS.
