CoastalWx
Looks like the CF is sinking SE with pressure falls. Rain will probably lighten up a bit.

radarman
Yes - but wouldn't the trend be important rather than actual value? I would say so, yes... The only caveat would be if you noticed a coincident drop in ZDR but still high reflectivities. In that case R(KDP) error would also be spiking. But even still, weaker updrafts that would cause the shift to smaller drops more times than not would also indicate a drop in rain rate, so you'd probably still be correct to use the trend. Hoth
Hi All, just wanted to report some banner weather here on Fishers Island today. What began this morning with glowering skies and peals of thunder rolling across the Sound has transitioned into a pretty decent little gale. Whitecap spangled waves, leaves and small limbs flying, torrential rain, enormous puddles, all the good stuff. The wind has really mounted in the last hour or so out of the north. Nothing too extraordinary, but a nice roar through the trees on the exposed northern lee of the island. Reminds me a bit of Bertha. Now methinks it's time to sip a dark and stormy and watch the waves crash ashore. Happy Independence Day!
