chietanen
Yeah, the dual pol is definitely showing it well. This is by far the heaviest sleet I've ever experienced. Unreal. I didn't think anything would beat Valentine's Day of '07 around here, but this does.
Pitmaster
I'm going to say it again.... i can not believe how hard we are getting absolutely crushed here in vernon right now. heaviest snow i have ever seen. beats 93, 96, PDII, Boxing Day. I'm over the mountain from Warwick on the Monroe side- seeing the same thing here as well. It is absolutely pounding out there - for however long this lasts, it is awesome! Pitmaster
That's your end of Orange County you scoundrel! Lol I'm only in the paltry 18-24 range here in the southern end of the OC haha

viking70
So I just did the dishes and it was pouring rain and still 33 degrees about 20 minutes ago and I thought there is no way this is changing to snow. Then the temperatures started dropping. Now 32.3 degrees and I went outside and low and behold it is lightly snowing with a trace on the ground. If we are getting over one inch of qpf like some models are saying then we used up about 1/2 an inch in rain. We'll see though. What a storm! Loving it! TJay
I was out with my dogs, the snow vs. sleet battle continues here. Snow mixes in, then its all sleet and back to snow and sleet. As much as I want to see this play out, I have work tomorrow. Enjoy the storm.

Dual Pole Albany indicates the stuff over Central Ulster County has already switched to snow.

I was thinking the same/ Current radar is filling in off of the NJ coast south of western LI and heading north. Radders
How long do you think we can hang on to the snow for? That is what I am researching next! Wanted to get through the sleet fest first before I focused on the snow part.. I think it could be a good 5-6 hours if all goes to plan.. The question is, do we get into banding or not....
