Greetings people!

What did I miss this past week?

I was down in Myrtle Beach, SC for a week......it was a blast. Overall good weather down there. Caught the tail end of those severe thunderstorms that blasted through the Carolinas with that large hail on Saturday. It made for a nice light show over the ocean. Other than that, temperatures between 70-75 a good deal of sunshine. It did crap out for a period of time Saturday afternoon into Sunday morning with that backdoor cold front which made it all the way down to SC.

By the looks of my yard, looks we had a fair amount of rain in the past 7 days.

Currently 50 and sunny here.

NWS has been stuck on zone forecasts last two days for here...

Yeah same. Central Region's servers are down for scheduled maintenance, which means that all Central Region offices are reverting to zone forecasts. Apparently it has the same effect on southern region offices as well (I don't know why but I read it in a thread on the Central/Western sub-forum)

So I guess eastern region is affected too?

Mt Holly is also stuck in the zone forecasts showing the forecast yet for last night....

Yeah, maintenance in Central Region is impacting many of the links on the NWS pages in other Regions as well. Not sure why the Zone Forecasts have not updated yet though.

Our local text product page link to the Zone Forecast seems to be updating though.

The forecasts obtained via the Point and Click are not updating correctly, which is probably tied to the server upgrades occurring in Central Region. The updated Zone Forecast from NWS Mount Holly has been updating locally at this link.

http://forecast.weat...on=1&glossary=0

Update: Technicians/programmers are still working on this. Apparently this stemmed from the upgrade to the servers in Central Region and basically since then things have not updated. Not good in parts of Central Region especially since there is ongoing severe weather.

Friend of mine posted some pics of how things are going on FB as far as spring growth... looks about normal for this time of the month/season. Which is good, since I want to see them dogwoods ;)

I could be wrong, but things in my area seem a little behind for April 18. Trees still basically look like winter with very little green showing.

My yard has greened up, but the only real growth is in the wet areas beside the stream. Daffodils and forsythia are still in their prime color.

I'm sure growth will explode once we see more than a one day shot of warmth.

Planted some potatoes only to have them washed out by the deluge and spread all over the yard below the garden. Not a good start.

Was just looking at this weekends forecast. Seems springlike, possibly more showers late Sat?

Weather for outdoor sunrise services on Easter have been colder than normal last several years, of course it depends on the date too. Two, or maybe it was three years ago it was so cold even Jesus came down off the cross and was looking for his shadow.

Well, at least we'll get up near 80 with some possible severe storms on Wednesday. :scooter:

True....but my yard is a mess. I can actually hear it seeping and gurgling (extreme clay soil) as its saturated beyond belief. I'd rather have a week of temps. in the 50s with full sunshine, rather than 70-80 degrees and a few inches of rain.
