Good call on your part

Snow easily overtaking the sleet here, and decent flakes at that. Nice echoes off on LI and rotating up through the Sound.

Fun begins now Snowman.gif

Now go pour a drink and enjoy... back to moderate here.... pushing 5" event total. Expecting to top out around 12... giddy up.

It's snowing HARD here in Lynbrook, even with my neighbor's floodlight off I still can see the flakes and barely can see across the street.

If nassau County can get 5 hours of this till let's say 3AM, we'll add 6- 8 inches for sure.

But do you think Bloomberg will close NYC schools at 5AM?

It goes back to around I-81, so we should be in the thick of it for quite some time!!

We have HEAVY wind driven snow here in East Setauket, changed very quickly from moderate sleet. Heavy flakes mixing with fine ones. Still a few ice pellets mixed in.

Temp holding at 30...NNW wind gusts to 30mph....

Enjoy this everyone! Not like there won't be more to come this winter though... happy.png

Be safe!

i'd say 70/40 snow to ice right now in long beach. when are these heavy bands coming through and when will it turn to snow? what time should this be done? work tomorrow in Holbrook is looking pretty silly at this point.

Thanks! been watching the forum here for a while..learning alot...hope we can cash in on some decent snows here...more flakes mixing in...

You've come to the right place. Welcome aboard!

Heavy snow and sleet here...more snow than sleet at the moment. Looking at that radar...lines up nice with RUC...I can understand Uptons latest totals. It will be worth staying up for because its going to happen fast.

We have only 3.5" as of 10PM and almost an inch of that is sleet / mix. Some glaze in there too. Unbelievable deep dense snowpack even now...its gonna be a sight to see in the AM with a big pile of new snow on top.

I've been attempting to power through lectures upon lectures of pharmacology which has so far been mostly a futile effort, thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif , but it other news, moderate snow currently in central westchester after an awful lull for the past hr and a half or so. Had some ridiculously heavy sleet for a while but has since changed to all snow. We had about 4 or so during the day, and since about 2.5 has accumulated so I'd say we're just above 6.5in at the moment with heavier returns making their way in. 1 foot looks like a good number here but we'll see how that plays out

sleet/graupel mix here and I'm just starting to see a few floaters mixed in. We were pounded here with heavy sleet for about a half hour and now the transition to snow is underway....and I just heard a clap of thunder in the distance which was confirmed by my dog who is barking.

Hahaha, floaters! I didn't know how to describe it. You nailed it!
