That does look like a decent structure...hopefully there was not significant flooding there but from the few videos out there not sure how likely that is. Josh certainly knows what he’s doing though and I’m sure he had a backup to a backup to a backup al planned out and if he sensed danger he would quickly react

if you followed up through his feed, you'd see that he also says it is expected that Josh doesn't check in that quickly following a storm, and that there were unfounded rumors going around about him, hence Michael sending out some tweets inquiring what others know.

First, let Josh be found first. Last I heard, he is still listed as missing. Secondly, to do so creates several issues, mainly which that this amounts to a tax by a United States entity. The founding fathers looked at tax as the ability to kill an individual, so while there are valid points behind the desire for this, there is also legal precedent which would likely disallow this. 1.28" soak yesterday. Still no word from Josh on Great Abaco. Only met him once at the BWI AMWX conference but we frequently message on facebook since we have similar world views. I know he knew what he was doing but this was his most challenging chase with a stalled Cat 5 overhead. Now that Dorian is starting to move I would guess they will start getting helicopters in late today and we will start seeing the total extent of the damage.

Josh and folks like him are a bit crazy IMHO (perhaps crazy isn't the right description). That being said, from a historical perspective, they provide invaluable documentation. Perhaps a couple people who might consider riding out a hurricane will see their videos and realize why evacuation orders are given even when a direct hit is not a certainty.

I like Josh and he has no idea who I am and hope he's fine. Seems like it would be pretty easy to just have a separate storm chaser discussion thread and put all the stuff there. Obviously people are interested in it and it's off topic for the main thread.

I see your point. What gets me is everyone referring to him as "josh" like they are his friends. Some may be i guess, but its still a bit weird. I think riding out storms is important, so people can see what happens if you dont leave, so i think what he does is important.

I’m sick of the posts in the main thread worrying about josh. I don’t care, and frankly if something did happen to him it is hard for me to feel bad for someone that put himself in front of a car 5 storm in a small island.

Thanks Tip. My neighborhoods name changes to the Isle Of Cobble and I end up with 24 feet of waterfront or in property. My thoughts and hope are for all those in its path, Josh included. As always ....

I know Josh has been in many intense Hurricanes. Has he ever been in the eyewall of something this intense? He was not the in strongest winds of Michael, Patricia was a weakening 4, Haiyan was probably a 4 by the time it got to Tacloban City. I know Michael last year was the lower pressure he has actually recorded.

Absurd to say the least. I'm amazed it's gone this long without a ewc...wonder what the record for that is too? Always liked josh but him tempting fate with storms like this are a real gamble. Is there anyway structures survive 200mph winds...never mind the storm surge.
