Tennessee Valley 2019 Fall Speculation/Forecasting
Mr Bob replied to AMZ8990's topic in Tennessee Valley
OMG!!!!!! Foul beast! These are useful in pattern discussions and it is the EPS afterall....We only object to the "Look at this 384 hr GFS. Wish this would happen" type silliness.....- 574 replies

It's lovely....just a reminder that fantasy progs go into Banter unless you are supporting some type of theory/forecast....Thanks! -

January 2019 Medium/Long Range Pattern Discussion
Mr Bob replied to John1122's topic in Tennessee Valley
Definitely going to be interested in the EPS....this is as extreme as I have ever seen for down here so it has to be taken with a boulder of salt....but, the pattern is set for the extremity over the next 3 weeks. Hopefully not this bad though. -

Probably a good idea to let all of the model data come in before putting the kibosh on it. -

They are out and you don't need the groundhog....weeks 2-6 are all very cold...I am going to need a trip to Aruba by mid February. -

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2003_Alabama_earthquake Felt this one from 2003 here in Chatt....but nothing last night. Upon reading up on the ETSZ, I was surprised to learn that up to 7.5 could be possible in this area and a 5-6 would be on a 200-300 year basis.

Great stuff! Keep up the pics! Just a cold rain here....

This was not a don't post maps thing...The resolution and the differences in how they come out on the map was my only point as well as a plug for text soundings....

The map production is an interesting thing to me....we are using stormvista here and it does a good job of keeping all the major cities out of the main accumulation....I agree with Stovepipe that the text sounding would probably give the best idea but obviously not promoting violating T&C of anyone's pay per view weather site....

JB is fine if you take it for what it is worth....he is always looking for a way to get to cold even if it is only a possibility. When you start using it as gospel truth, you have crossed to the weenie side. Most are cautiously optimistic about this winter and it doesn't hurt to have something like next week's cold snap which times out pretty similar to Nov 14 (almost to the exact date)...obviously every year is different but I am feeling good about...

Nice job! Don't believe in the 60s-70s winters here anymore but the 10,11,14,15,18 stretches are still on.....I'm running with the winter bulls this year....Look out!
