wow that 1821 gale hit both Norfolk and Long Island (hence the name). I wonder where this made landfall on Long Island?
-
Seems like highs were around 70-71 on the barrier islands, was 81-82 at my house. I’ve seen much bigger gradients this time of year-20 degrees or more.

No rain Friday, it will be at least partly sunny on Friday

Tomorrow will be the hottest day so far in parts of the region. Parts of the region could reach 90° for their first time this year. Temperatures will remain above normal into the weekend when high temperatures will return to the 70s. Showers and thundershowers are possible during the weekend. Rainfall amounts should generally be light except where scattered locations see heavier thunderstorms. The ENSO Region 1+2 anomaly was +0.2°C and the Region 3.4 anomaly was -0.2°C for the week centered around May 21. For the past six weeks, the ENSO Region 1+2 anomaly has averaged +0.08°C and the ENSO Region 3.4 anomaly has averaged -0.08°C. Neutral ENSO conditions will likely continue through at least mid summer. The SOI was +11.32 today. The preliminary Arctic Oscillation (AO) was +1.773 today.

88° for a high at CON. 83.7° at the casa.
-
I can go with that. Just don't want this stuff sitting for days or over a week.
-
models are still all over the place. my guess is we'll at least see something saturday afternoon/evening
-
Snakeless as well lol
-
Man it feels nice out here but that damn smoke is unmistakeable right now..you can practically smell at it times with the gusty breeze. Hopefully it clears out for a classic HHH day tomorrow!

Superstorm started following Central PA Summer 2025

87F in Lanco for high .

With all the rain recently and the warmer temps incoming, should start getting some good progress on tomatoes. Garden at the house has been humming along. Lettuce has done really well and the peas are ready to go now too. Herbs are going gangbusters. We have so much mint and thyme now. I'm looking forward to some mojitos in the summer with some steaks
-
First 90 in the books in Maytown - got up to an even 91 today. Lack of smoke/haze got it done.
- Today

Maxed out at 81F here. I had figured 85-86.
-
Back in high school lol. I just make edibles for evening walks these days. I'm actually happy about the warmer nights. My 16 tomato plants have been dormant since I planted them.
-
Picked up almost 2 inches of rain in my area. We had 2 quick squalls come through early this afternoon, and a torrential downpour an hour ago, and still now raining moderately. Looks like we gonna have a wet June too.
-
Hot day for it.
-
How confident are so. E that we'll get rain this Friday and weekend? Trying to decide if I'm going to put fertilizer down or not.
-
87 seems to be my high. Anyone who celebrates 90 degrees is a commie lol
-
92 in Marysville
-
not saying that at all.. but 75 to 80 and not humid is fine.. I just dont get the 90/75 fetish then have 10 acs running
-
Stash restoration? Pretty warm today all around. Felt kind of nice as the humidity isn't overly oppressive....yet 84 for a high after a low of 61. Already down to 79 in the neighborhood. Currently 86 at work

If you read the SPC convective outlooks leading up to that event, you will notice several interesting things: 1.) SPC went 30% probabilistic on D3. That's anomalous. 2.) The Day 3 and Day 2 mentioned negative tilted upper low. . .in June. Red flag that we're dealing with a potent event. 3.) We closed well on this event: dynamics and instability. Had we had even an hour or two of legitimate, full sun then it would've been a top 10 tornado day in this region. To me, that event is the benchmark for non-tropical tornado days in these parts.

I hate working in the heat. Today was rough because I'm not use to it yet. It felt kinda good though. I chose to work outside so it is what it is. I just schedule shorter days and take more breaks. Shameless Plug: Softwashing commercial and residential buildings. Wood deck restoration . Paver restoration Stucco restoration.
