Some unseasonably cold temperatures through mid-week including a hard freeze tomorrow night into Wednesday morning. Temperatures will remain in the upper 40's which is a solid 10 degrees below normal for the date. We slowly modify to slightly above normal temperatures with highs in the mid to upper 60's by the weekend. Looking ahead to next week we should see a big warmup well into the 70's before another cool down back to below normal temperatures by late next week. Overall, a dry pattern throughout the period.

It will be nice to get the ground dried out for spring yard work, hiking etc. I think everybody in SNE is out of the drought conditions now.

37 degrees this morning, fired my coal stove back up yesterday for probably a few days. .28” of rain yesterday and highest wind gust 37mph.

Yep just read that. Hes going with a cool and wet summer in the east and also mild winter in the east. Too early to predict next winter.

Well spider season is here. Had one of those stupid brownish yellow ones that move really fast crawling on the coffee maker when I was making coffee and there is one of the same type on my office room wall and its a bit too high up for me to get with the device to put it outside. Must be a nest

I just got woken up to what sounded like my roof about to get yanked off my house. The wind almost never wakes me up.That had to be one hell of a gust.

Global temperatures seem to bottom out around 1917 (following a super la nina), at about -0.2 lower than the 1850-1900 pre-industrial mean. If we use 1917 as the zero point, 1.5C would have been first breached in 2016, and the global temperature anomaly for 2024 would be at +1.8C.

I ended up getting the better part of 1/2” of much needed rain from thunderstorms late this afternoon. That was the best rain in quite awhile!
