The ongoing strong El Niño, will continue to strengthen through the mid-fall. The SOI was -24.84 today. The preliminary Arctic Oscillation (AO) was +1.209 today. Based on sensitivity analysis applied to the latest guidance, there is an implied near 54% probability that New York City will have a warmer than normal September (1991-2020 normal). September will likely finish with a mean temperature near 69.7° (0.5° above normal). The Region 1+2 anomaly surpasses the all-time record of +4.5° that was set during the week centered around June 29, 1983. Supplemental Information: The projected mean would be 1.7° above the 1981-2010 normal monthly value.

I don’t follow MLB at all, but my soon-to-be 98-year-old grandmother has been a die-hard Orioles fan all her life, watches every game, etc. She keeps hoping they’ll win one more world series in her lifetime. Skimming through the comments in here, I’m guessing that’s not happening anytime soon. I wanna try to get someone from the team to sign something for her when she turns 100 though.
