  1. Past hour
  2. Well, that doesn’t mean that some of these areas don’t get double digits…one station in particular has a poor record in this regard.
  3. I moved my Vermont trip to March 7-9. We can be sure there won't be a snowstorm that weekend, right?
  4. Last time: snow and sleet both count as snow. Snow maps include sleet.
  5. It’s been on and off on a bunch of models for a bit however. Let this weekend clear out first as the crux of this potential stems from the Arctic front passing today, traversing the TPV, coming back around and spawning the storm as I recall from yesterday’s reading.
  6. That could be. I'm guessing the totals will creep up as we get closer to the storm. Curious to get @OHweather thoughts on the storm. I'm also wondering if model qpf output takes into account the dry air in place and qpf that will be wasted due to saturation?
  7. I usually don’t report sleet on top of snow. This time I will, but I’ll take separate measurements to get the snow accum right when it flips, and then get the sleet accum just to differentiate the two when reporting the total. Also given that sleet is counted, the bullish nws forecasts make a little more sense.
  8. Agree 100%. But yet, it is shocking the number of people that will pull out a weather app and tell me to the hour what it's going to do. Happened last night with a group I was having dinner with.
  9. The snow map does not clearly say sleet.
  10. We should like both publications as they would have the storm going more to the right. The New York Times would have the low tracking over Pennsylvania. Relax just having some fun, submitting a post without the word sleet in it, except for that one time.
  11. You’re welcome. LWX spotter form has snow/sleet combined, so def measure as one total. Freezing rain would be separate
  12. These things usually start an hour or two early either way she should be fine with all the salt on 95.
  13. Can we all get back to the seriousness of examining and then freaking out over the the world class 12km NAM?
  14. I'm hoping to pass the 12" mark with this storm, just a hair north of Route 30 in New Holland, if we mix 8-12 and if we don't 10-15 is my call.
  15. -12 here. Rockford -14, wind chill -37, dew -28. Duluth -29, wind chill -57. INL -33, wind chill -51. Wausau (only a 3.5 hour drive from here) -25, wind chill -51, dew -35.
  16. the 850 maps dont matter bro....show the 700mb temps
  17. My big questions for MY street are: Will they pretreat it? (no sign so far) Will they plow during the storm? When will they try to make a car path? If the answers to questions 1 and 2 are no, I expect to be entertained by MY Hill of Doom as people Think that they can drive up it. (In that case, if they don't have four wheel drive, people should stay away or stay home.) If there's a decent amount of snow, maybe some kids will try sledding down the steep parts. Or maybe people will think it's too cold for that.
  18. FWIW, I think HRRR soundings support this pretty well by eye.
  19. I actually didn’t know this- I was wondering how I was going to report it. Thanks!
  20. We all know that if social media puts it out there, it must be true
