  3. The latest OBS at 6:53 pm, Oak Ridge is still 98 with a HI of 110.
  4. There really is something to it. Last year you were missed by everything while I was hit by everything and well AN precip . This year totally flipped. You are me and he is I and I am him
  5. Hello to all. I finally decided to stop lurking here as I have for several years and decided to sign up and join in on the fun. I have learned a lot of things pertaining to Meteorology from many of the members here. I do not have any where close to the knowledge that many of you have and I will not try to pretend that I do. So I will basically lay low, except for contributing my weather observations, particularly during winter. And perhaps chiming in on memories of snowstorms from the late 1960's on. I'm 65 and the earliest memory I have of any snowstorm was the 1967 NYC Blizzard in early February and the "Lindsay Snowstorm" in 1969. I have a Vantage Pro 2 Davis Weather Station and have also kept a hand written daily weather log since 1987. And I guess time will tell whether or not I prove to be a weather/snow weenie. P.S. My maximum temperature today was 101.4 degrees, which occurred at 4:10 PM. My location is in Eastern Passaic County, New Jersey
  6. I'm just going to publicly say that there was a time when I didn't believe/trust his numbers. I 100% do now.
  7. Meanwhile here on the south shore lol
  8. Folks that live here understand the difference....and the data backs it up. thanks!
  9. Got it...so it can drift either way Didn't we accuse ORH relatively recently of being too cold?
  10. My station quits at 99 too.
  11. Amazing how much we pay for our utilities and taxes and shit like this happens. Its criminal.
  12. I don't have a horse in the Chester County temp saga, and this is not based on hard, scientific data. But I travel through the county a LOT on my way to Philly and the difference in temp between my area and there is noteworthy. We just went Tuesday. It was 92 here at home when we left. That was 2pm. We were in Cochranville at 3pm and it was 88. It is consistently 3-5 degrees cooler on our trips. And that is not at Chescowx elevation.
  13. Geez. Did you step on a turd or something? I signed the AFD and everything.
  14. Day 2: 103 IMBY today at 4:30pm
  15. Hearing MRB may have had an intra-hour high of 101, which would be 1 degree short of the record for the date from 1931. Should be confirmed within the hour.
  16. Sorry for the snark, it just feels like the same discussion about comparing dew points of a PWS in a wooded area. The data is real, the dew is 75F on DIT’s yard when it’s 68F at the open airport field. Both are real but for different reasons. Humans have altered the landscape too, it’s hard to separate out what degree of warming may be from pavement, vs emissions vs other anthropological reasons. I guess you could remove all sites that are within 30 miles of a given population number… then compare all the sites in rural areas to see what happens in the means?
  17. Of course see below. You do realize that the facts and actual stats clearly show with a significant p-value that the fact remain that my EN station and the Chester County PA USCRN are statistically exactly the same with over 7,000 days of daily historical data since 2007. Facts have nothing to do with a degreed meteorologist view or "thoughts" on the actual data. You may not like it but it is factual and they don't care about your feelings.
