How far out was that 36-39? I've blocked the whole thing from my memory. -

with this type of depiction one would expect P-type issues....pretty surprised that is absent from the current equation!

when all is said and done, most likely outcome is similar to that that POS in 2022? jmo -
A bit north too which is good.

Just sounds like people are comparing what they think they are gonna get to what they thought they would get from the GFS a few days ago. EVERYTHING else has trended better

I'm feeling pretty good here near Annapolis

SREF mean moving west again lol... money frame was hr39 at 12z. Need the next frame at 18z to compare.

Since we're within 24 hours of the start of the storm, doesn't it make more sense at this point anyway to use short-range models, not the long-range models like the Euro at GFS? I know the Nam is considered one of the short range models, is this also one of them? -
Seeing the eps wetter than the op is a red flag.

We may here

Not to derail, I think '78, for everything written about it, is still underdone. The drifts were amazing, 10 to 15 feet easy. I was from a family of 6 and only two of us, my mom who was home and me who could walk home from school (5th grade), made it home Monday. 3 of my siblings, who were in high schools in neighboring towns, did not make it home and my dad, whose work was in Pawtucket, was stuck on 95 and made it to a gas station were he stayed. He made it home Thursday with the big equipment from the Army Corps when they started to plow...it was amazing. -
0z will be our biggest model suite in years!
-
Euro is really struggling this winter.

Nothing special? East Springfield got 22.5" (Pumping Station), 19" in Holyoke, 20.5" in Chicopee. This was outside of the down sloping/shadow effect of the River Valley. Those numbers were recorded by Coops back then. They are pretty solid.

21z SREFs coming in more tucked/amped. Should mean NAM holds serve at 0z.

How does the NBM para compare?

Hey, we have an interesting analog! Feb 6-7, 1978. Very similar in terms of track and rate of deepening with the low along the coast. Certainly a top 10 storm for BOS... perhaps this will be one as well. Interesting to see the snow totals around our area during the storm. DCA 2.2" BWI 9.1" 3 NNW Upper Marlboro 6.5" Certainly a colder storm, but we could very well see sharp discrepancies in snow totals W-E with our storm tomorrow into Monday morning.

I feel that we’ll see a consensus start to build at 00z. 18z NAM and 18z GFS had a pretty large discrepancy with heights out in front by hour 6 already.
