  1. Past hour
  2. 57F/DP 56F/light rain You can really see the spin with a radar loop. Just hanging around doing its thing...
  3. .67 here so far. Just some small branches and lots of leaves scattered around. Had a few gust of around 30 or so late last night but otherwise uneventful.
  4. Picked up another .40" today for a two day total (so far) of .93" Wind, of course, was insignificant in my backyard, with a peak gust of only 13.4 mph which occurred this morning. We had dinner last night at the Thunderhead Lodge on top of the Blue Mountain on 309 last night, and the wind was howling up there at 1,300 ft.
  5. This small drop stuff adding up, can only imagine just to my SW in that fire hose.
  6. But we tried to tell you that…and Kevin has alot less rain than a lot of us CT peeps.
  7. .70 here so far. Same here with small branches and leaves all around. Anyone hear or see what the situation is with the water along the Hudson, especially around the Newburgh waterfront area?
  8. Yup…the tropical ones have certainly delivered for us inland folks. Other than that it’s tough 99% of the time.
  9. I think that’s why the long range models continue the WWBs and the extreme east based nature of this event right into next June.
  10. Coastal flooding was the story of this storm, worst since Sandy (14 years) for many parts of central/south Jersey...
  11. Sure. But that was 76 years ago. Those clearly don't walk through the door often. A good tropical storm could bring inland winds. Outside of that, or the extreme event you mention, it probably ain't happening inland. I'm talking about legit 60+ mph frequent gusts, not a wintertime fropa that brings strong but sub-severe gusts.
  12. in your defense? if you looked at the models you would know they all had a bullseye over your head

  14. This may be a setup for the Adirondacks to see first flakes by mid-October.
  15. Yeah we could get another inch. So far I've gotten 2 inches for the event here. I know it was much worse at the coast, but here it just seemed like a moderate strength noreaster with a rainy windy weekend. Could end up with an impressive 3 inches of rain from the event, but when it's spread out over such a long period of time it doesn't cause much flooding. Here the event is nothing to write home about.
  16. or 1950 even without full-leafed trees it would have blown this event out of the water
  17. In my defense (lol) that idea kind of worked out. Big rains were confined to a small area, it just happened to be over me. Look at CT. Kev doesn’t even have an inch
  18. Escaped this one with pure luck. Multiple very large limbs down around my house that seem to have just missed the power lines meanwhile one block over had no power most of the storm. this was definitely a memorable storm
  19. We look to be roughly a month and a half apart from how 1997 transpired but we have a pretty weak cold pool comparatively, so this will be interesting to see how this event ends. Makes we wonder if we do actually go to a solid La Nina or more so a weak warm to neutral ENSO state. Nice to finally see the recurve happening more frequently and maybe just maybe the northern hemisphere pattern changing.
  20. Had been under the heavier bands much of the early morning, not gully washer level but about 1/3rd- 1/2"/hr rates. Rain has tapered down to light as the storm crawls north and pushed west right into Jersey (pushing the heavier bands inland). Currently 58 with dp 58 and 1.60" in the bucket (2.25" 2-day total ).
  21. Someday Kev you will see a storm reach your hype wind wise. Keep playing
  22. Another batch of rain pivoting in the from the northeast. Soggy, cool, fall weather!

  24. Now up to 1.65. This morning has been gross. 1.10 since midnight.
  25. Delays weren't too bad. My flight from PHL took off last night about 30-45 minutes delayed, but still made the destination ahead of the scheduled time. This storm wasn't that bad, at least it won't be mentioned in the same breath as Sandy or the Blizzard of 1993 in the future.
