GFS and GFS AI both have 6-16” for the mountains. This is a very tedious setup but there is some very high level boom potential there. Especially if the trend west some more.

At least this storm it’s more clear what we need to see at 500. Last storm our ability to tell if a run was good or bad was like zero until the surface maps dropped of the actual storm.

Crazy gradient. But just that tick, I went from 1 inch at 18z to 5” at 00z. Most of south jersey gets pummeled. I can’t stay up for the euro tn but encouraging that the gfs keeps improving…

That northern stream batch jumped considerably north since 0Z yesterday. Impressive totals into central and even Northern WV. The problem is it might just be the GFS’s imagination.

Subtle, but important changes to the heights and vorticity downstream from the ULL on the 00z vs the 18z... The whole thing just seems more tightly wound-up this run, as more of the southern stream energy kind of rotates around to the north of the ULL instead of a more broad circulation. People have been clowning the GFS but it's been the most consistent with this storm and refused to budge..Every one else is caving to it. If this verifies, win of the century for the GFS
