The graphics cards are ridiculous. I found a refurbished DELL LATITUDE 7420 i5 2.60GHz 16GB RAM 256GB SSD 14" laptop for $225 a few weeks ago and scooped it up. So much easier to use for lots of weather stuff than my phone. I just checked and same computer is already $50 more. Sent from my SM-S731U using Tapatalk -
51” on the ground there yesterday. Insane.

This is probably top 3 annoying pattern that can be. Cold enough to tap for snow at times, but not conducive to storm development. Almost like Mother Nature said that’s enough fun, back to nut kick mode. Guess we should get used to it for next year.

Low of 19 & currently in Marysville. -
Some interesting things here and there on the models, but nothing that really sticks out.
-
weekend continues to warm on models...60's and maybe 70's on Sunday

RIP sir- I always valued your input. May heaven produce snowstorm after snowstorm for you

Official was 81 I saw. They mentioned some of the instruments false readings.

Got used to the furnace quieting down... now this. We're weaning off the gas and leaning on pellets more this time of year. as long as the living room is warm, I don't care about the rest of the house... until we're back at pipe freeze temps!

Just goes to show how narrowly focused the cold was this winter into the East. While we had our first winter near 32° around NYC in 11 years, this was the 2nd or 3rd warmest winter overall for the CONUS depending on the dataset. So once the effects of the record early SSW in November wore off this month, the warmth from out West quickly came east. The shrinking geographic footprint of the cold is one of the reasons that this was our only winter this cold in the 2020s so far while we had 4 winters this cold back in the 2010s prior to the big warming shift with the 2015-2016 super El Niño.

Funny, I never grade only on amount of snow. Pack retention is big, however I'd rather have near continuous storms even if most/all of it melts in between. We had above average in Westfield and SImsbury, but got shafted on the Blizzard. In give this winter a solid B. If we had more continuous snow along with the pack, I'd have given an A-. I reserve A+ for winters like 93-94 and 95-96

ice fishers might get a little more in this weekend

19.1 and awful

A couple reasons I wouldn't even consider an A- for my area. First, the Blizzard was really nothing I haven't seen in 50 other smallish storms. Second, too few events. I mean sure we had several small ones, but to be an A for me it needs to be pretty much wall to wall events. I'd give it a solid B because of the long pack retention and on time start of the season. By March even in the best winters I'm pretty much done so I don't use it to sway my vote much, however if we had a prolific first two weeks, I'd move to B+

I do not remember that even though I was a senior in high school. What did he say about the storm? . -
Down to 23-24 this morning.

Unpopular opinion: SPC was correct with the initial forecast. They should have trimmed the tornado risk back but not the wind. We were an hour of partly sunny skies away from having that second line get enough juice to wreck a lot of stuff. I worked this event. We rarely get calls in western portions of Montgomery County where it's very rural. Our 911 calls were coming in just minutes after that linenwas racing through, which is an indication to us that bad things are inbound. We got lucky it trended down towards the Potomac River over a largely unpopulated section of the county.

Solid A here. Near continual snow cover after Christmas, relentless cold, two big events and way above climo snowfall. If we can somehow squeeze in one more warning event to make Morch memorable I'll bump it to A+.
