it is indeed brackish one of them took a big jump on it. i mean i’ll give them credit because the ice didn’t break lol. wonder how thick it is -
There is a vague signal on the 15th/16th ... as that implies, not super coherent.
-
Yep. In fact, I don’t think any basketball team has done it in the last fifty years. Elite level of non-fouling, lol. A once in a lifetime event, like snow in Raleigh.

Well that setup was nothing like what’s modeled on the ensembles. The entire continent was furnaced then . Not saying a few mild up days in the 40’s aren’t possible . Just not 50’s and 60’s -
I’m impressed with the winter to date…sure even more snow could have happened up to this point. But overall it’s a high B+ for me to date. If we pick up more snow later in feb, and into first half of March, it’ll go to a solid “A” for me.

Yesterday IAD added another 0.1 inch of snow with just a trace of precipitation. The situation at BWI is murky because both February 6th and 7th also show a trace of precipitation there, but the snow totals for each day are listed as "MM" -- indicating that data are missing.

La Nina eventually does what it does-early winter is when you want to cash in.

QPF is also off...nearly 40:1 ratios. i figure bad catch again from the winds yesterday, shame they don't fix that. ORH is more reasonable 5.2/0.31 17:1 -
Pushed 80 here. Then it snowed 24 hrs later, and snapped back the other way.

Radar looks much juicier than pretty much all modeling. Would not surprise me one bit to see some surprises today!!!

I had over a foot OTG in Feb 2018 and we ripped 70s right over it.

Of course we trend warmer. The question now becomes, can we get a stemwinder or two? -

My son had a hockey game at daybreak this morning. Gorgeous morning. Yes it was cold but it was tranquil. Maybe I need to move to Alberta or Nunavut. This week is going to feel like a heat wave.

Oh man we wish we were at RSW or APF right now…sipping a margarita on the beach in Boca Grande.

Yep! The concert we went to was so diverse age wise. Saw this one live and me and the Ms.J’s were both singing it.

0 was the low here, meh as I expected with the winds. Deep winter though.

On a lighter note in here...took these shots yesterday. Yes, I went out in those conditions to do a little photography!! First one is of a nearly completely frozen Rock Creek here in suburban MD (Rock Creek Trail, near Bethesda/Silver Spring). Second one is a tree at the entrance of the Georgetown Prep school, I have always liked that tree, it's very stately-looking (black and white image)...

There is no 50’s. Not the set up or pattern for it with deep pack east of Mississippi , Frozen Great Lakes, cold SST’s and leftover blocking. Mild up sure.. no days of 50’s -
