That's where GYX is for here, while channel 13 has us in the coating-2" color, and a lot closer to nada than to 2-4". Yesterday it looked like a whiff.

Looking at the upper air Charts at 36 hrs out there's a minor difference between the two that appears to yield to the drastic difference; The Vort in Alberta orientation. The Strong LP west of Californica appears to be the impetus for that in comparing the EC and GFS there. Shows how minute details can evolve into major differences.

I'm not so sure there would be a flood risk from the snow melt alone. Despite the smaller storms we've had and the one biggie, I think we're continuing to run a deficit in the the precipitation column so I think the ground could absorb a quite a bit of snow melt. Now, there could maybe be some issues which arise from ice jams and so forth.

Maybe it will minimize any flooding risks.
